ROUSE HILL FAMILY MEDICAL PRACTICE

Urgent Care Service

Care when it’s urgent but not an emergency

Our Urgent Care Service acts as an extension of public health, meaning its bulk billed for eligible presentations.

So, what exactly is an Urgent Care Service, you might ask? Well, it’s the place to head to when it’s something urgent that needs medical attention but isn’t quite a life-threatening emergency. It’s not your typical GP clinic, nor is it an emergency department. Think of it as that perfect middle ground!

Our goal with this service is simple, to ensure you and your loved ones get the right care at the right time.  Because let’s face it, emergencies come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes you need help right away without having to rush to the ED.

Wondering what kinds of things we treat through our Urgent Care Service? Some examples include:

– Suspected fractures, sprains, and dislocations
– Wound management and cuts requiring stitches
– Bites
– Minor burns
– Removal of foreign objects from skin, eyes, and ears

Plus, there’s an Urgent Care Line to make sure you get the guidance you need when you’re unsure whether to head to the emergency department or swing by one of the Urgent Care Service Centres. 📞 Just dial 1800 371 372 and we’ll be here to help!

The urgent care service is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm and can treat urgent conditions such as:

Minor Injuries

Mild illnesses

At this stage, our UCS centre cannot treat patients under 16 and over 65 years who require an infusion; patients undergoing chemotherapy; patients with cardiac/chest pain, severe abdominal pain and serious breathing difficulties; and patients with acute mental health diagnosis. If this is an emergency, please call 000.
