Antenatal Shared Care

Antenatal Shared Care is a collaborative approach where a woman’s antenatal health is managed by both her GP and the public hospital’s antenatal clinic. This model allows women with low-risk pregnancies to receive personalised care with their GP that is closer to home whilst still having access to specialised medical support at the public hospital when needed. The benefits of Antenatal Shared Care include improved flexibility with GP appointments and a patient-doctor relationship that continues with you from pregnancy to postpartum. It ensures comprehensive care throughout the pregnancy, with a focus on both maternal and fetal well-being, while also allowing for a more relaxed and supportive experience during this important time.
